Jason West- Professional Triathlete

About Me

My background is a little bit different than the average triathlete. I actually grew up wrestling for most of my childhood. Growing up in Pennsylvania, about an hour outside of Philadelphia, they take their wrestling pretty seriously. I was very talented and worked hard just like I do with everything else in my life, but as I got into high school my heart just wasn't with it. This is when I started to get more into the endurance sports world. I had swam in the summers for fun, so I started to swim in the winter as well. I decided to compete in a triathlon with my Dad one day, and from that point on I had found my new passion. I continued to train and race in college for Penn State, and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology in 2015. Upon graduating, I made the decision to move out to Boulder, CO to work with the Apex group coached by Neal Henderson and Grant Holicky, Since then, I have been training and traveling the world racing. I am focussing on short-course ITU racing. I believe I can win a gold medal in Tokyo in 2020. I will continue to chase my dreams and believe that with hard work, commitment, and passion, you can achieve anything.

Looking for a coach??

I also coach triathletes and hope to do it full-time one day when my career as an athlete ends. I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Kinesiology in 2015, so I love to apply all of the scientific principles that we know to help make better athletes as well as my experience as a professional. If you are interested in a coach or looking for some help, email me at [email protected] and we can get you started!
